Jesus' anointing at Bethany covered him in fragrance of costly nard. It ran down his head, over his face, & onto his body. It was still there when he was arrested. The fragrance was with him as he was beaten-nard mixing w/ blood. As they nailed him to cross, fragrance remained.
The woman's costly gift of nard hung in the air as Jesus, the Great High Priest made his entrance into the Holy of Holies, and as the Lamb of God sacrificed from the dawn of creation lay in wait. The stench of death woven with the fragrance of life.
Apostle Paul describes Christians as following Jesus in his Great Victory Processional. As we process behind Jesus, remember we bear in our bodies the stench of death. We are also bearers of the costly fragrance of life. These 2 are in Jesus, eternally woven.
