Do I think people have a right to distance themselves from internet drama? Absolutely! However I have a problem when I see people or in this case white people call racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc ism "drama" or "discourse".
I am sorry but if you are white and push back or feel uncomfortable when brown and black people tell you to do the bare minimum of listening to us when we tell you that our experiences in fandom are not the same as yours then you have a problem.
Look into yourself and think about why being told to do the bare minimum makes you so uncomfortable. White privilege exists even if you are the nicest white person in the world and it exists all around you to the point where it is considered comfortable.
This thread was not made to target anyone or be mean, but if you are white and feel this way do better. I have seen a lot of white people get offended the moment we tell them to do the bare minimum of listening to us and understanding that our online experiences are different.
