Monty J. Bennett: Republican megadonor and businessman who’s companies received more than $50 million in PPP money intended for small businesses. These companies have a combined revenue of over $2 billion per year.

Bennett has given more than $1 million to Trump, and the Republican Party as a whole just since 2016. He hired Trump fundraisers to act as lobbyists as the CARES Act was being negotiated and drafted.

For good measure, Bennett’s companies also laid off most of their workers rather than assisting them through government-mandated shutdowns. One third of those laid off were laid off permanently.

Meanwhile, Bennett only cut his salary 15%, and has holed up at his 1,000 acre ranch. A ranch that he previously spent $250,000 on to fight a water pipeline, by purchasing two board members of the Tarrant County Regional Water District.
