Just my small contribution to the quarantine/productivity discussion - I was severely burned out before the lockdown was put in place. I'm putting zero pressure on myself to create, but I am pushing myself to develop healthier coping mechanisms for stress. (1/3)
I've learned since lockdown started that I have an extremely low stress threshold, which isn't like me. Probably my prolonged exposure to it through life finally spilled over. My long term health is more important than making art and what could be more stressful than a pandemic?
I feel like if I can develop good coping mechanisms in the face of a global pandemic, I'll be better equipped to cope with daily stress and be productive when this is over, and in the future. Don't underestimate the importance of mental and emotional wellness. (3/3)
(That said it's obviously easier said than done and not everyone can make their mental wellness a priority. If this advice doesn't apply to you then just don't take it, no need to comment saying as much, this thread isn't for you.)
