So, uhm, I decided I was going to do the thing, and write about THQ, and how I didn't like season 2 and 3. But as I look into season 3, I realise how essential season 2 was and to bring back season 1 uni was such a clever way to tie seasons 2 and 3 together.
But don't get me wrong, I still hold my opinion on the warped and their issues, and to be fair, the only reason I don't like Don is the fandoms way of presenting him as a helpless child who just wants to die and is too scared of telling the D gang to fuck off.
Cus guess what, season 3 hits ya in the face, he's very capable of doing so, and does,, he's not a precious child who needs someone to protect him, he's again, very capable of killing someone in his way
I do however like the difference in uni 1 and uni 2, uni 1 being head strong and not afaid of a mean ol baddie, whereas season 2 has always been a bit more eh and stayed away from combat. I do enjoy the personality chance between uni's,
Ashlie, is Ashley, nothing changed about her but the whole with thing and red hair, and you know what they explained that in an episode so, I have no quarrels
Nick from season 1 was just,, the best, he was funny, he was cool, he had axes and enjoyed gardening.. 10/10 for me, and then season 2 nick felt, plain? They didn't do much for his character other than, he's a werewolf, nope he's a vampire now. And I know that's kinda because of
Nick not being able to be in videos for a few months nd I fully understand that, but there is a thing called off screen progression. Hense why I don't find season 2 nick the most enjoyable, he had nothing going for him then and now the world he was set in is gone I don't see how
They could further his character other that the sherif, which was a fair move, it gives him a sense of justice, where his ancestor, season 1 nick was a gang member
Jon from season 1 was funny he was the comic relief and thus he didn't get much story treatment in season 1 and that's fair. Yeah he kept dying but that was like a, oh, he'll be back kinda thing, so when season 2 Jon then died, and didn't come back, it kinda gives a parallel to
Season 1 Jon, which was interesting and I think furthered the characters differences, because I'd like to think they were different Jon's, like the rest of the season 2 cast, but if they were the same Jon which a lot of people like to believe, than that move only flattens the
Character, and feels stiff, because it's not like the D gang were never mentioned on season 2,they were and in fact, the suit guy kept going on about him, so if they were the same Jon, I think he'd have a least a small reaction to that name after he nearly killed him and his buds
Then because Dawn was already a simple character in season 1, it felt natural for dawn to also be a simple character. Which I also think was a fair decision since a large proportion of season 2 was about the dawn bots, who also showed the same amount of emotion
As for Duni, I am biased not gonna lie, he is my favourite character. But his whole "I love uni" and "I'm so over uni" got kinda confusing. In season 1 it's clear he has some feelings from his first introduction, thank you nick, and in keeps that going all the way to the end
And then in season 2, it's fully understandable why he'd loose affection for uni after uni let's him BURN IN LAVA, he and Molten have a lot in common actually--but then his morals get confusing after he happily accepts ddawn back after he straight up betrayed him, sooi
But then the moment we waited for, the return of the D gang in season 3,, and they are no where to be seen except Duni chillin in a cabin and running away like he didn't want senpai to notice him,, so when we meet him again with season 1 uni, it doesn't feel like meeting him
For a second time, and does feel like a broken reunion which I thoroughly enjoyed. But since season 2 uni is back, we kinda loose that connection and rely on Don for information, which is fair. But what I wanna know it what changed within coming out the pocket dimension and
Up back in the real world made Duni fall in love with him again?? Also I appreciate how uni still fucking despises Duni and isn't falling for that season 1 trick again. That was cool, like a lesson learned thing.
Using this, I'll lead on to the warped, I don't have too many positive opinions on them and to be fair I don't know much about then so please tell me stuff I'm wrong aboutot just don't know. Thank you boos, anyways,,
The warped to me are an excuse for Duni to do a thing since his previous tactic was using the runes of which he now has to manufacture, and are nothing like the ones he used before. The warped don't feel like lackeys but they also don't feel like separate villains too, they're in
A foggy state right now, I know people are going nuts over warped Jon so that's a thing I need to catch up on, it I also don't like them because they feel like it's an excuse for bad things, like, oh it turns out there is a secret relic that can destroy this evil that we've never
Heard about before, let's go on a mini quest to get it and defeat the evil, you know.
They don't have proper personalities, they exist to do bad stuff, they don't appear to have any character and they just feel like an item or a tool, I'd appreciate then far more if they had a story behind them, and maybe they do and I'm being dumb cus I haven't caught up yet,
I also realise how long this thread got.. Oops,
