I& #39;ve seen some really exceptional PE teaching in China (though not the norm there).

- strong emphasis on play
- teacher spent most of his time and attention on the weaker kids, not the stronger ones

most of all I think good PE teaching involves very little organized *sports*. Because the majority of sports aren& #39;t designed to be good at teaching kids physical skills, or letting everyone participate!
but it also needs, even more than other subjects, teachers who really *like* kids and enjoy spending time with them. Which is why it& #39;s a shame it& #39;s proverbially the domain of sadists, martinets, timeservers and perverts.
