I've seen some really exceptional PE teaching in China (though not the norm there).

- strong emphasis on play
- teacher spent most of his time and attention on the weaker kids, not the stronger ones
- divided up groups by size, not by age https://twitter.com/miniver/status/1248968682132267011
most of all I think good PE teaching involves very little organized *sports*. Because the majority of sports aren't designed to be good at teaching kids physical skills, or letting everyone participate!
but it also needs, even more than other subjects, teachers who really *like* kids and enjoy spending time with them. Which is why it's a shame it's proverbially the domain of sadists, martinets, timeservers and perverts.
