What I don't get about this conversation: They could "open up" every movie theater in America tomorrow and still nobody would go.
The things that are currently closed and I would consider using in the absence of a rigorous testing & isolation regime are certain parks and outdoor spaces around the city.
I have tickets for a Bikini Kill show in November and I'd hate to miss it, but I'm not going to go in the midst of a pandemic raging out of control and I doubt the band would play anyway.
It's arguably *easier* for businesses to survive if the government orders them closed and accepts responsibility for keeping them alive than if the President just says "we're open for business" and everything stays half empty.
