Watching Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure showed me how important music is to the series so here’s a thread showing some of its many music references from parts 1-5:

Iconic antagonist Dio Brando was partly named after metal group DIO with the rest of the namesake coming from acclaimed actor Marlon Brando
Three of the Pillar Men (Karz, Wammu & Esidisi) get their namesakes from the new wave group The Cars, well known pop duo WHAM! and legendary rock band AC/DC respectively
The other member of the pillar men Santana is named after guitarist Carlos Santa who also founded the rock group Santana
Smokey Brown is named after the legendary Motown singer Smokey Robinson and the godfather of soul himself James Brown
Mercenary Steely Dan is named after the jazz rock band of the same name who are most remembered for their Grammy award winning album Aja
Josuke’s stand Crazy Diamond is named after a song off Pink Floyd’s classic album Wish You Were Here
Another stand is named after a pink floyd song this time it’s Koichi’s with it being named after the song echoes from the album Meddle
Rohan’s Stand Heaven’s Door is named after a Bob Dylan song that was on the soundtrack of the Western film Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid (1973)
The shapeshifting abilities of the myesterious Mikitaka gets its name from the innovative and pioneering group Earth, Wind & Fire
Giorno’s stand get the name Gold Experience from an album by the one of the greatest artists of all time in Prince
The seemingly immortal stand Notorious B.I.G. is obviously named after one of the greatest rappers to ever do it
Fugo’s destructive stand Purple Haze comes from the well known song from the debut album of the Jimi Hendrix Experience
One of the more influential punk rock bands in recent times Green Day was the inspiration for the name of Ciocolata’s stand
Secco’s wearable stand has its name inspired by one of the most influential groups in modern British music Oasis
That’s the end of the thread sorry if it was a lil long and further apologies as I did miss a few other references also
