1) Is #SocialDistancing really new, just because of #Coronavirus? I would say it partly began with the normalisation of the condom and increased policing of private sexual conduct - reversing 1960s-1990s liberalisation - coupled with a growing over-reliance on TV and internet.
2) Whilst people gained comparatively trivial victories, such as same-sex marriage, CCTV and smartphone/internet hacking have made us wary, and even where we "confess" online, the effect is invariably hate and persecution as a result, causing us to seek social distance offline.
3) There is a direct link between loss of male phallic potency and the urge to reproduce with females, "conquer" his boyfriends & rule his family out of a fear of offending or facing allegations of "sexual abuse", and loss of community and national identity.
4) The culture at work removed “club culture” humour and flirtatious banter in favour of a robotic “professionalism” and turned “counselling culture” into a culture of informing on those that did not comply.
5) So by the time the #coronavirus hit the world, we were already used to various forms of subtle social distancing, enforced by fear and the new “evangelical” cultures of guilt that have their origins in the Bible and Qu’ran. It was too easy for everyone to toe the line.
6) We tend to want to pull down what is truly “different” because we have lost basic decency, and wish to police everything we don’t like or understand. We socially distance from the other, whilst expecting close conformity from them, regardless of what is ACTUALLY being said.
7) We have lost the art of “soft power”. For example, a theatre can withdraw funding from a play. It’s censorship, yes, but no government or police need be involved, and a playwright can simple take work elsewhere. Part of growing in society is experiencing painful ideas & events
8) Now I’ve set the scene, visit www.chirbit. com/theprophetv and scroll down the list of audio clips until you find “Coronavirus And The Cup of Dreadful Things”. And hopefully, you won’t jump to conclusions or become a “socially distancing” censor now I’ve explained all this!
