The woman who died from Coronavirus after being referred from Alimosho General hospital to LASUTH had her baby sent to newborn baby unit.

Kitchen staff
Across labour ward, postlabour ward and newborn baby unit all possibly exposed.

This is sad.

Right now a friend of mine who is a medical doctor at Orile Agege General hospital is telling me how the morale of the doctors, nurses and health workers are very low in Alimosho general hospital.

Especially those in the pregnancy/labour unit as well as the newborn baby unit.

That patient was said to have been exposed to almost all the doctors, nurses and health workers in the pregnancy/labour unit while in Alimosho GH. And her baby was also in the same unit with other babies attended to by same health workers.

The consequences here are very huge.

And from what I understand,
The patient was only tested for Coronavirus at LASUTH after spending weeks in Alimosho GH exposed to almost all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the pregnancy/labour unit.

Just imagine how they felt getting a phone call telling them she’s positive.

From what I gather, the morale right now is not great at Alimosho GH- and you can see why.

Please if you know any doctor, nurse or healthworker in Alimosho general hospital and also LASUTH ikeja, put them in your prayers and check on them.

This is a war we all have to fight .
