A fun thing to remember is that when Trump met with Kim Jong Un he kept expressing that he wished the media worshiped him like a murderous dictator's and continually referred to Fox News as mostly fair but "sometimes tough."

Seriously. He's incredibly dangerous.

Trump actually believes that Fox News, a literal corporate propaganda arm that has retconned every dangerous and absurd decision he's ever made, is unfair to him and isn't loyal enough.

Now he's pushing OANN, a racist, fever dream, paranoid machine.

Trump is an endless black hole of need. He's an authoritarian and needs constant, unrelenting worship, but even that worship is never enough.

His entire management style is predicated on that, like every authoritarian. He has to pit sycophants against one another.

OANN understands, even more than Fox, that Trump is easily influenced by what he sees on the TV. And OANN is delirious with conspiracies. They push war with China and the idea that liberals are evil conspirators. Even more so than Fox.

This battle of media is really dangerous.

Trump is mad that Fox is covering the pandemic and isn't pushing the idea that it's completely over and a complete hoax. OANN is able to fill that need happily and will push Trump even further right into even more conspiracies - and Fox will likely respond by competing.

But you need to realize something: a world where an unstable, easily manipulatable, TV-obsessed president is actively courting a shameless, dangerous upstart network is a much more dangerous world.

Seriously. I know it's hard to imagine. But this is something that could get bad.
