So we are going to just dismiss the fact that some people grew up with a particular meaning for battery that included consensual sexual activity? It’s better we engage and recognize the standpoint and deal with it thereafter rather than say it has only has one meaning.

I haven’t been following the discussion about the thread that caused all of this battery debate so I’m not commenting on the use of it originally on here.

Say the use of battery to describe an orgy (which is consensual) is problematic because of what many people might know it as and the fact that we’ve used it in popular culture to demean women.
