I have controversial opinions about Money Heist. But apparently these opinions aren't unpopular either.

Will tweet later when I wake up. Disclaimer: just finished S2. Good night.
Hi I'm back HAHAHA

Disclaimer lang again na I'm only up until season 2 but I heard the 3rd season was better so I'm looking forward to the facelift!!! Anyway here it goes
1) It's (arguably) not slow-paced but it's too stretched out. Maraming nangyayari in each episode, but not every development was necessary.

Sobrang dragging rin. It's like a watched a 40-hour-long movie in one sitting. The suspense is what kept me watching, not the plot devt
2) When watching crime shows and films, one of the most beautiful things to see is how the story unravels and unfolds. You don't just witness the plan get botched, you also stay to see it come to life.

This didn't happen with Money Heist.
(Spoilers ahead)

2.2) We knew their goal: rob the bank & escape. There was no glorious unfolding of the plan. The only interesting part was a few episodes in when they revealed they were printing money instead of stealing from the vaults. Was pretty straightforward after that.
2.3) The grand reveal about printing bills would've been great if this was an hour-long movie, but no. The whole "plan" wasn't interesting after that. Hindi tayo invested sa robbery tbh. We just wanted the protagonists to get out bc we were getting anxious abt their stupidity lol
3) Which brings me to: the gameplan itself. We were given no motive for the heist except for a weak explanation about how it was an homage to the Professor's late father. He and Berlin were also talking about "The Resistance" (more on this later). The others just wanted money.
3.2) A few conversations dedicated to the heist and its importance to "the resistance" could've given us something to root for, to cheer them on while they're inside the Mint. Is this a statement? An elaborate act of dissent against the system?
3.3) Is their goal to rob the Mint, or to sow distrust and anger against the government?

We would've been fine w just a carefully-planned robbery. But mentioning a "resistance" made us wonder if there's a bigger goal. They didn't mention it again until the last episode.
3.4) I'm very much aware of what they're trying to insinuate. If you put two and two together, you can make sense out of it: the heist was a tribute, an homage, and a statement of dissent.

The problem is the execution and delivery of it all. It was badly written and paced.
4) Which brings me to my biggest frustration: The đź‘Ź Resistance đź‘Ź Was đź‘Ź A đź‘Ź Scam. Inis na inis ako na ginamit ang Bella Ciao for the clout lmao. Imagine hearing "Internationale" on a soundtrack of a film that only mentions labor rights once. It's tacky and cringey af.
4.2) I heard they elaborated more on it on S3. But that's the second heist already. Wala talagang relevance ang resistance in the first heist except for the Professor's one-liner at the end that made Raquel change her mind. That's the story arc? Lol wasn't even built up properly.
4.3) Basta galit talaga ako dito lmao. I was expecting Berlin's performance on the news to be a speech about state oppression, the ruling class, & how the 99% actually hold the power of the 1%. Mga ganong levels lol. Or they could've at least mentioned liquidity injections.
4.4) I was expecting it to be the grand reveal after all those dragging episodes. Pero wala. Di nga rin pinakita ang reactions ng mga tao eh. Sinasabi lang sa news na "the people are on the side of the robbers" tf. You can't get public empathy just by saying your co-thief died.
(Anyway I'll end that rant there. Also I know low budget yung first two seasons so I get why di masyado na flesh out ang public opinion but it's an impt one sana if their angle really was resistance)
5) Other than those 4 major points, here are a few other elephants in the room: the show's characters have shallow motives (kung resisters sila edi sana mas may substance), it's very unapologetically sexist and misogynistic, situations were repetitive,
5.2) The Professor was stupid to fall in love with Raquel (it doesn't fit his character, too), Tokyo is careless, Rio is immature, Nairobi is the only level-headed one but they didn't give her character justice.

Berlin was a fucking asshole that they tried to redeem at the end.
5.3) Sacrificing himself doesn't make him less of a pig. Toxic asshole men are toxic asshole men. Stop making us feel sorry for them. I rest my case.
TL;DR Money Heist was entertaining, the suspense will keep you on your toes, the characters are relatable but need to be fleshed out more, the plot is weak, the motive is shallow, the resistance was used for clout.

The "matriarchy" only lasted one episode. Thanks, male writers.
Final note:

It was a grand robbery, but it was never the political statement they sold it out to be.
