The Vic is one of the places Ben and Callum have made some history! Here's a long ass thread, proving that someday, it should be THEIR place:
#EastEnders #Ballum
"Ben Mitchell." "Callum Highway." - their meeting took place at the Vic almost a year ago. The spark was already there and it grew bigger when Ben switched on his mode™ and called Callum a "kermit"...way to go!
Jay, Whit and Callum enjoy a celebration drink after Jay took Callum under his wing and offered a job in the funeral parlour. Ben joins them for a moment and when it's time to leave, he makes sure Callum knows he knows about his leg "injury".
"What is your place?" is one of their most iconic lines when Ben tries to wind Callum up and as we already know, he achieved what he wanted.
Ben follows Callum to the loo and tries to wind him up once again, "I'm proud to be part of the journey on your big gay adventure", "It ain't my scene" - Callum's denial is still here and very much alive!
It's the same scene. You'd think Ben leaves Callum alone....not a chance! They may be done with the talking for a while but Ben's still there to seduce and push Callum's limits.
Jonno pays Callum a visit a day before the pride. Callum takes him to the Vic and as they're sipping their pints, Ben and Lola enter the Vic. Ben glances at them every so often until it's time to leave - they share a longing look.
Ben and Callum go for a pint after Ben gives Callum a lift and helps him buy a ring for Whit. They have a nice chat about Ben letting it all out and talking about Phil while being trapped in traffic. "She's a lucky girl, mate" - Ben's softer side appears!
The siege. Ben getting shot. Callum gently stroking his head, talking to him, keeping him alive and most importantly, not giving a single f*ck about the world seeing how much he cares for Ben. There's nothing else to add!
Ben rejects Callum at first which makes Callum lose his hope, but Lola's here to save the day! She has a chat with Callum and explains him that Ben's pushing him away for some reasons. Callum regains his courage and asks Ben out, showing his persistence.
Ben and Callum talk about Callum being serious about it. He assures Ben that he's ready and this is what he wants. Jonno interrupts them, wanting to know why the wedding was called off. That slowly leads to Callum's coming out!
It's Ben and Callum's first time out together! They're having pints with Lola and Jay and enjoying their time.
"Why don't you stop worrying about everyone else and just start enjoying yourself, eh?" While Callum's there for everyone, Ben's there to take care of him and make him realise it's time to enjoy himself. The looks they share here are absolutely phenomenal!
The Vic being the place where Ben and Callum become full-time boyfriends? Here you are. Ben knows he upset Callum earlier with his approach but after an emotional chat with Pam, he decides to go for it and make it official with Callum.
Callum worries about Ben and his dodgy ways, that's why he wants Ben to go legit. He knows how much Ben helped him through his coming out, so he wants to repay the favour in his own way.
They had an argument in the morning about Ben being involved in "hurting Jack" mission. During the day, Ben looks for him, admites he got dragged into something and partly explains what's going on. They seem to be fine in the end!
They're not, though! A couple of days after their breakup, Callum confides in Whitney at the Vic while Ben's there with Phil, discussing Keanu's case. They share one long and meaningful look. You can clearly see they're both hurt and still have lots to talk about.
A couple of weeks later, they're both back together, enjoying a pint at the Vic. They talk about Phil leaving Walford and Ben's lack of contact with him. Callum asks Ben if he's sure he doesn't want to join Phil but Ben's there to tell him he wants to stay.
Their relationship has lots of ups and downs but Callum's there for Ben during Dennis' funeral and supports him through it all!
