-So there’s really nothing that special or interesting about steve and tommy’s Friendship. it’s just your classic, (nearly overdone at this point but relevant for character development) bully buddies trope type deal.

Chester r*shing (the actor who plays Tommy) mentions in a twitch LS, he has the idea that Steve and tommy had been friends since they were kids.
This means they may have met in middle school, and
Of course grew into the toxic social idea of a popularity contest.

steve probably asked tommy for the answers to the big test they had on friday, tommy would help him cheat off of the smart girl next to them, they’d loiter around during gym, etc

steve’s home life is something that’s Not talked about at all in the show. we never see his house, no mention really of his parents, (other than when he says to nancy: “my parents are gonna *kill* me”
he’s probably lonely, and searches for comfort in all the wrong places.

Tommy carol, and nancy seem to be the only people he associated with,
It’s obvious tommy and carol don’t like nancy because steve is always with her, they spray painted her name on a theatre,
make fun of her, etc.
their behavior towards her started to irk steve, just a little

Things pretty much go downhill with their friendship after season one.
particularly a scene after the fight steve has with jonathan.

Steve is angry mostly at himself, and tommy and carol were definitely not helping with their annoying banter.

steve gets into an argument with tommy after he tells carol to stfu

and Tommy sees just how much steve has changed within the few months of dating nancy after he goes off on him.

this happens:

steve gets in his car and drives off, leaving an angry tommy shouting at him from the parking lot, “That’s right, run away stevie boy, Run away!”
this is their last interaction until season two

Time passes by and we get extremely likable steve for seas 2! he doesn’t associate himself with tommy or carol anymore, is trying to do better in school, and be a better boyfriend for nancy.
*insert billy appearing and taking over hawkins high with his new place as king* :,)

the next to last interaction stommy has is at the halloween party, right before steve’s breakup with nancy. tommy is basically Simpin for billy

or rather he’s his new little minion, billy may just be tommy’s new idol

tommy is billys bitch now and he tries to be intimidating, billy probably doesn’t even really care at all about tommy, he’s just someone to hang out with,

this brings us to their last interaction, the infamous shower scene :,)
tommy has the same kind of attitude that billy does, but he annoys steve with the possibility that his girlfriend is with jonathan now and steve gives him a look before tommy roles out.

although i have a friend who mentioned that chester revealed there was a different scene planned involving push ups? LOL BUT THEY JUST WENT WITH THE SHOWER XD

in seas 3 there’s no hawkins high, steve has graduated and moved on to do greater things!

anyways so that’s basically it, the sexual tension is pretty heavy in the shower scene for both of them but that could just be me overlooking every single thing XD
