Extended Bio
First off, I’m a Christian. It’s in my @ handle, it’s the first thing in my bio. I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross to save humanity from our sins, and that he rose on the third day. I believe in the Bible as a sacred text and the word of God.
However I do not associate myself with any particular denomination. Theologically, I would say I could be aligned with early Protestantism or the Eastern Orthodox Church, but I personally don’t associate with either. I believe in Jesus, I believe in the Holy Bible, that’s that.
That being said, I will specifically renounce the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is corrupt, defends pedophiles, and supports idolatry through worship of Mary and the saints. (And that's just the worst of it). I will not associate with this denomination.
I consider myself a neotheocrat. This is because I believe in a strong state that enforces biblical morality. The reason I say “neotheocrat” instead of “theocrat” is because of the brutality and forcefulness often rightfully associated with theocracy.
I do not want to prevent people from practicing other religions, as this would go against the teachings of Jesus. The point is simply to base human laws on objective biblical morality.
Some may make claims that we shouldn’t, for one reason or another, “legislate morality.” If you think anything at all should be illegal, you are either “legislating morality” or “legislating” your opinion.
The whole reason murder is illegal is because it is wrong. Same with rape or theft or anything else wrong. Some countries or localities may have immoral laws, laws that go directly against what is moral, or some may have morally neutral laws, but the entire point of laws is to...
...legislate morality. Therefore, it is my belief that the best system would be one in which God’s laws, actual morality, are the basis for human laws, with little or no deviation. Enforcement would be strict, but could not utilize overly brute force, or the death penalty.
Just to briefly touch on that death penalty part, yes I am anti death penalty. Not because murderers and rapists have a right to life, but because no human has the right to take life. Same reason I am anti-abortion. Prolife in all circumstances.
I also believe in capitalism. Not because it necessarily is beneficial to humanity (although it often is) but because it is the only moral economic system. Socialism and communism rely upon theft as a means of redistributing wealth, and theft is immoral. So I support capitalism.
And yes taxation is theft. This is why I believe in abolishing income tax entirely, and deriving government cash reserves from corporate and sales tax instead. It’s not the perfect solution, but at least it’s not penalizing people for having a job.
Yes, I am a pacifist. I see no valid excuse for wars. With the exception of defending oneself or another person, no one should engage in violence, whether state sanctioned or not. War, ideally, would never be an option.
Authoritarian. I don’t believe in an oppressive state, but a strong state. As I mentioned before, things such as the death penalty are not acceptable, and due process is a necessity. I simply believe laws should be enforced strictly, with as little violence as possible.
Going more off of that, I also believe in prison reform. Not because criminals deserve nice living conditions, but because the primary focus of prisons should be rehabilitation with separating dangerous individuals from the rest of us being secondary. No more punitive justice.
Yes I am a globalist. I don’t believe that what is right should be selfishly kept within America, or Britain, or Israel or any other nation. I believe that these values should be spread throughout the world (nonviolently of course).
I am also a brony and furry. This shouldn’t even need explanation. If you’ve made it this far (in fact if you even came across my profile in the first place) then you’re probably aware of what those two words mean. However, I’ll provide the definitions anyway.
