#AskingAutistics Given I am still on the waiting list for a professional DX, and the DSM isn't used much in my country, would it be wrong for me to self-describe as Level 2 ASD? I feel it's a helpful descriptor for me but I don't want to overstep any lines. #ActuallyAutistic

(Also, I understand a lot of people have issues with the "levels" thing, and even I agree it's not a perfect system, but please don't derail this with complaints about it. I just want to know if it's OK for me to use the term for myself.)

Alright, a lot of people seem to need this clarified so I'm adding it on to this thread:

I am not new to the autistic community. I've known I'm autistic for five years. I've just reached a point in my life where I feel some sort of label to describe my needs is necessary.
