Luis Suarez started his career at Nacional in Uruguay after being promoted from the youth team to the first squad. He scored 10 goals in 27 games.
El Pistolero went to Dutch side Groningen for €800k in 2006. He scored 10 goals in 29 games for them.
He then moved to Ajax a year later for €7.5 million and stayed there for 4 years. He scored an impressive 81 goals in 110 games for the Dutch giants. He also won the KNVB Cup, the Eridivise, finished as top goal scorer in the Eridivise and was the Dutch Footballer in 2010.
Luis Suarez has participated in three World Cups with Uruguay and in three Copa Americas. He reached the Semis of the WC in 2010 and won the Copa America in 2011. He is Uruguay’s top goal scorer of all time with 59 goals in 113 appearances.
The Uruguayan joined Liverpool in January 2011 for €26.5 million. He won the League Cup in 2012. Two years later he was named PFA Player’s Player of the Year while winning the Premier League Golden Boot and he shared the Golden Shoe with Cristiano Ronaldo. 69 goals in 110 games.
He joined Barcelona for €81.7m after the 2014 WC. He won the treble in his first season. In 2015/16, Suarez won the Pichichi and his second Golden Shoe. He’s the only player except Messi and Ronaldo to have won both since 2009. He’s Barca’s 5th all time goal scorer with 191.
He also has 96 assists for the Catalunyan giants, meaning he has 287 goal contributions in 270 games. 👏
To end it, Suarez has 288 goals and and 128 assists (416 contributions) in 457 matches for club and country in his whole career so far. Despite him having disciplinary issues throughout his career, it doesn’t deny the fact that he’s the best number 9 of our generation.
