I had a friend talk to me about how they were overcome with emotions after going to a public place.

They described it as mental exhaustion.

After listening to them I realized it was very similar to the hypervigilance I experienced after returning from home from Iraq.
Their mind was looking everywhere for danger and unfortunately danger today is very common.

They focused on hands, distancing, small gestures that may represent an illness.

I'm afraid we may all experience this at one point.
I have PTSD and in the past I would complain about people using the term loosely.

My tune has changed.

There are going to be many people with PTSD.
