ACNE PRONE SKINCARE ROUTINE.

THIS IS A THREAD.
STEP 1: IDENTIFYING YOUR SKIN TYPE

I personally have a combination skin type + sensitive skin + acne prone skin.
Pay attention to how your skin respond to your surrounding, especially when exposed to sunlight.
STEP 2: CLEANSERS

The general rule for any type of skin is that your cleansers should always be soap-free. I& #39;m using the Eucerin range at the moment (cleanser + toner + moisturizer) as they& #39;re mild & don& #39;t irritate my skin.
Eucerin cleansers are priced at RM55 (usually la but if u& #39;re a cheapo like me, u can wait for Guardian & Watson& #39;s sale. If u& #39;re lucky, u& #39;ll get it for RM40ish) for the 400ml ones.

If you& #39;re on a budget, Cetaphil cleansers are good too. They& #39;re priced at RM48 for the 1L ones.
STEP 3: MOISTURIZERS

I& #39;ve chosen to go with Eucerin A.I. Matt Fluid (pro acne solution range) as it& #39;s smooth and has a matt finish.

It is non-comedogenic (doesn& #39;t clog pores) and it contains salicylic acid (helps reduce acne inflammation).
It is priced at RM60 for the 50ml one (again, just wait for sale time la okay).

Cetaphil has a facial moisturizer as well but it& #39;s double the price!

I can& #39;t speak for other brands as I& #39;ve not tried them nor do I have friends with severe acne issues who has tried it either.
STEP 4 : SUNSCREEN

I cannot stress how important this one is. It protects your skin from sunlight and prevent skin cancer in the long run.

I& #39;m using the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer sunscreen. It& #39;s SPF50, water resistant and has a matt finish! It is priced at RM40 for the 88ml one.
When choosing one, please make sure that it& #39;s >SPF50.

Some say SPF30 is sufficient but if you have a lighter skin tone, please don& #39;t take the risk. Lighter skin tone people have a higher chance of getting skin cancer than darker skin tone people.

IT. IS. NOT. WORTH. IT.
Once you& #39;ve gotten your desired/suitable sunscreen, don& #39;t forget to apply it at least 20 minutes before sunlight exposure.

Don& #39;t wait until it& #39;s too late to protect your skin.

Prevention is, and will always be, better than cure.
STEP 5 : DEVELOPING A SKINCARE ROUTINE

Now that you& #39;ve gotten your products, you ought to use it to its full potential.

For starters, this diagram might help you kickstart!
I rarely ever use a face mask but when I do, I always make my own.
In a bowl, mix some tumeric powder, yogurt & honey (if you want) until it becomes a paste. Apply on face for 20 mins & rinse well.
Don& #39;t make it a habit to use a face mask all the time. Once/twice a month is fine.
I& #39;ve found that skincare products can only help to a certain extent. Ultimately, it all boils down to your personal hygiene and habits, that& #39;ll make a difference in the long run.

Here are some of my suggestions:-
1. Drink at least 2L of water everyday

2. Change your sheets every week

3. After washing your face, always dab your face dry. Don& #39;t rub.
4. Get your body moving, sweat the toxins out.

5. Don& #39;t touch your face with dirty hands.

6. Don& #39;t forget your sunscreen!!!

7. Never sleep with makeup on. In fact, try to reduce usage of makeup altogether. You& #39;re beautiful regardless!
8. Get enough sleep.

9. If you& #39;ve got pimples, don& #39;t pop it.

10. Visit a dermatologist if your acne persists. It& #39;s worth it.
There& #39;s no easy route to finding the perfect skincare product but for the trial & error method. I& #39;ve battled with severe acne for years and it& #39;s not an easy journey but you& #39;ll get there! #acneproneskin #acneproneskincare #acnebattles #acneissues #fightingacne #skincareroutine
