Tbf good points. So bottomline is, ang labanan ngayon is to deal with the brutal realities expose by this pandemic and come up with a final solution largely derived on the most humane option with both reservations and serious consequences after approval and implementation. https://twitter.com/jjjpinetree/status/1248986307021271041
*exposed...I am not gonna be hypocritical and say na I don't wanna learn. We all do, but contextualization will play a prominent, heck, dare I say, at this point, the foremost role in how PH academic institutions will adjust as a result of the pandemic.
And true tho, medj inconclusive yung graduhan if based pa lang sa narecord nang assessments when UP was cut short right before the days leading up to midterms.
Tho we really have to draw the line na virtual classes transition has yet to prove to be compatible with the country's educational system when not only na inefficient ang internet connection in some areas, pero lacking in facilities rin ang other affected schools.
So it might ultimately boil down between end or extend the sem showdown, with far-reaching consequences for either option.
End the sem in favor of mass promo but risk compromised learnings (especially in prereqs) and uncertainty in the numerical representation of scholastic standings and higher pressure on graduating students with thesis and licensure exam performances at stake.
Extend the sem in favor of another major acad calendar adjustments but risk difficulty in reviving general momentum amongst students and instructors alike, not to mention anxieties on a possible resurgence in infections by resumption of regular operations.
Both options are still up for major supplemental changes (and yikes I shouldn't have opted being opinionated on this thread) a.k.a. still no clear cut since today pa matatapos ang Holy Week so we all have to abang sa mga updates.
Let it be known that UP System's following 7 days may go down in its history as its single most important in terms of overall discernment.
