i love this old clip of serious-looking girls in 1950s dresses playing harry partch's weirdass instruments.
i wish there was a watchable version of harry partch's ritualistic musical "delusion of the fury" on youtube because it's wonderfully weird:
i just watched a video explaining how partch translated his ~microtone diamond~ into traditional notation... basically imagine a xylophone with multiple axes & no "up" or "down." the fact that his music survived after his death is a true testament to obsessive nerds.
