As a child, I observed a trend with my mom that I can now connect to something similar going on with our ladies now . No be today . So I’ll make a short thread . These are just my thoughts based on what I saw first hand ... a thread

My mom had at least 10-15 eleganza coolers . Different size , shapes , colors etc. who remembers those metallic Muritala (as Murtala was pronounced then) basins, with wide ass covers , also metallic mostly white with a semblance of 20naira note as the design on the side . . .

Then to the breaking plates with mostly transparent covers . Mainly used to package food for the neighbors during Christmas... I’m sure we all know this ones . My mom also had countless party cooking pots . Different sizes and shapes. Different set. Plates for parties and spoons

She never stopped buying and these things were RARELY used. She wld use nail polish to mark each items . 1day my dad was confused he asked why do you keep buying these items you never use, her response “ mama Vivian and mama Romanus get them too” . As always, dad kept it pushing

Now to wrappers . Hollandais, Single(expensive as f*ck!) , George, Adire, Bubba etc mom had different colors . She go just gather the thing put for box, throw camphor put. She NEVER wears these items. Sometimes she borrows people that want to do trad marriage but that’s it

Don’t get me started on shoes and bags whose labels never left them. Why ? BECAUSE MAMA VIVIAN AND MAMA ROMANUS had them also.

Now to the point. You see all those lipsticks, human hair, nail polish ladies kill themselves over, WE NO SEND DEM !

They practically do this in competition with each other. To make each other feel less of “what’s up babe” . E NO CONCERN US . I’ll take it back a bit to college days in PTi. You step into a male hostel room, u see a fridge and a TV . Most times , 2 maybe 3 cooker. That’s it

The rest room members share it all. Go into a room in FH, you’ll see 6 mini fridge , 10 cookers , 4microwave, each corner wan get their own small TV and sound system. WHY? Just for show / competition with other girls. Or maybe I don’t know anymore

Your make up, human hair, high heels , nail polish, crop tops and all , is NOT for MEN. It’s for you guys .

So I heard an Audio where MEN were blamed for something we know absolutely NOTHING abt. Ladies I’ll keep it straight with u. All we wanna do is SMASH AND SLEEP. We don’t have time for those extras. At least I know I don’t . Smash sleep or keep it moving.

So if u carry ur body go do sculpting because of what one man said, you’re sadly and terribly mistaken . We DONT CARE! An average responsible man fights battles after battles after battles. Shiiii we mostly wanna sleep . Have a talk with yourself . Reassure yourselves

Stop the competition btwn yourselves in the guise of wanting to gain attention coz we REALLY DONT CARE what ur hair or lipstick looks like. Yeah Yeah we give compliments to be polite and gentle just to make y’all feel good but we really don’t pay any mind to those things honestly

The areas we need make overs most times is ur character, ur hustle , ur ambition, ur kitchen skills . As we dey hustle bread go hustle Akara. As we dey reach house from hustle , let the atmosphere be peaceful coz we really just want to SLEEP NOW.

We ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE for how you feel abt ursef . It’s called Self ESTEEM for a reason. Per Head . I refuse to take any blame coz laslas everyone gets bodyshamed abt something. Ladies stop competing with ladies if a mans attention (which usually is) is, the end game . . .
