The Democratic Party has made their base of liberal voters more cynical than some of the most irony poisoned people on twitter. They simply dont believe good things can ever happen and so have embraced the blackpill that is Joe Biden.

It's fecklessness and conditioned helplessness so extreme that it is almost indistinguishable from nihilism

Biden was simply the worst choice possible apart from Bloomberg. Not even the semblance of a shattering the glass ceiling that might theoretically appeal to a few or a singular pet issue, such as Climate Change for Inslee or Steyer.

The fact that this is the limits of the imagination for a largish portion of the Democratic Party speaks volumes of their voters.

I think the reason why so many people thought that they would end up going for Kamala was simply overestimating the average Democratic Party voter

Maybe this is the intended effect but it seems as though the electability argument counterintuitively encourages people to pick who they believe the least exciting candidate because they might theoretically upset the least amount of people.
