the idea that we all have to be perfect people from the start, and the insistence that everyone, even fictional characters, even a 6 year old fictional little brown girl who just went through trauma, be perfect or not exist, is the most toxic thing in youth culture.
it's especially toxic for black and brown people, who are *expected* to be right and when we're not we're hurt more than anyone else.
no room for contrition, no room for improvement, you are unchanging and immobile and will always be what you currently are. This isn't how life works.
in other words, conflict is not abuse, lilo and stitch is a good fucking movie, and lol >going on tumblr in the year of our lord 2020 https://twitter.com/SquigglyDigg/status/1246984685567143942
