Okay, two things with the Ace Chemicals scene. FIRST, this song is amazing. I'm so glad they decided to turn Harley's theme into an actual song. Joke's On You really captures a LOT about the character. #bitchesofprey
SECOND, I don't think it was necessarily intentional (though if it was @CathyYan please tell me) but Harley blowing up Ace is more than just cathartic for the character. It's also cathartic for comic fans. #bitchesofprey
Harley's original origin didn't involve the chemical plant. That was retconned much later and took away almost ALL of her agency because Joker threw her in. It wasn't a choice. And now it's gone. #bitchesofprey
And now that that's out I can yell about how much I love the decision to use oners instead of cuts in several scenes. This movie is pop art noir and it's perfectly suited for that kind of motion. #bitchesofprey
More comic stuff! Roman is a great villain! He's bland as hell in the comics but he DOES want to run all of Gotham's crime families. #BOP gives him a personality perfect for that kind of need. It's angry rich white boy with a fragile ego. #bitchesofprey
Wanna talk about the non-linear format? I know it's by design to mimic Harley's scattered personality, but it also serves the purpose of spreading out the exposition and the action sequences. It's messy in a way that feels extremely intentional. Yay good plotting! #bitchesofprey

I still don't know if they credited Black Canary and Jurnee separately on the soundtrack intentionally, but in my head she is backed by her actual band from the comics. #bitchesofprey
