The lilo and stitch dissertation about her being a brat and the movie being bad was obviously well written but not well researched. You have a TRAUMATIZED CHILD that’s also AUTISTICALLY CODED that is coping with loss and grief and doesn’t knkw how to react to her situation. 1/
She’s looking for a way to cope but she doesn’t have a feasible way to do so, while also being bullied while continuously trying to make friends. Her family dynamic has changed entirely with her sister now being her primary caregiver and she’s not adjusting well. 2/
So she wants to find someone to help her make the best of her situation, and she gets Stitch, who yes, is basically a manifestation of her issues but also shows her ability to grow and learn from her experience by pushing him to be better than his innate evil nature. 3/
And to top it all off, Stitch let her beat Mertle’s ass in the deleted scene after she makes an unnecessary comment about Lilo’s mom (don’t speak ill of the dead y’all) but still tried to prevent her from doing so initially. Lilo isn’t a bully, y’all are just ableist trash 4/
who sympathize with the bully because POC aren’t allowed to be kids when Lilo tried her hardest to befriend Mertle and her friends time and time again only for her to be rude and nasty regardless of the situation. End/
