My patience tolerance for people who have a lack of humanity is at 0% - especially for #architects who are firm leaders who should know better.
#architects do what's right for your people - How you managed through this will be a testament to how your firm survives in the long run, the type of clients you will be able to attract, and the talent interested in working for you in the future.
I realize that a lot of you are making hard decisions right now, but forcing people to show up in the office with all that's going on in the world is wrong.

Find a way to work from home, reposition their skills, look for new opportunities to participate in the community.
If it is necessary to look at furloughs and layoffs, because it may be inevitable, be transparent and empathetic about the decisions you are making and why.

Make sure you are giving your employees the best opportunity they have in a crisis like this.
Provide them with all the resources they need to file for unemployment and find healthcare alternatives through this pandemic.

And give them an opening to come back the instant you can afford to do so.
If we want the public and our clients to truly understand that value that we bring to families, organizations, communities, as designers - then we need to start by showing up for each other.
