How can we manipulate defences through various attack tendancies?
This thread will look at some cool and interesting ways various sides created some scoring opportunities through their attack. #coachescorner
The Chiefs have a redzone lineout & look like they're going to maul.
Saders D becomes narrow, expecting short options off 9 they lose spacing
Chiefs playmakers make great decisions, choosing the correct option.
Great if your 10 has a great pass and your centres draw attention!
Ireland play following a lineout and look as if they're looking to constantly play slow off 9.
Play open side, bringing it back blind - Scotland become to narrow, fail to look up and Ireland play a great wrap-around play to cut through the Scottish D!
Stormers play great off the top line out option - their 12 has a short option and the back door to force defenders to sit.
On the second phase their great lines off 10 force Bulls defenders to bite in with their support lines being great allowing their 11 finishing well.
Springboks enter the redzone with a strong carry of the line out. They use strong carrying shapes off 9 to suck in defenders while also creating great quick ball.
There is great interplay between forwards and backs, with gain - line options.
Great Finish!
Another way to create a great attacking opportunity is through post maul cross kicks.
Saders maul, lose momentum but recognise the Chiefs are narrow on D.
Use forwards shape as a dummy option to force the D even more narrow and execute a great cross - kick play to finish!
England use their lineout to bait Wales into thinking they're going to maul. They play to their 9 who with the options he has on his shoulders draws the D wider and to his outside. Flat at the gain line however he plays a wonderful inside ball to 14 beating an overfolding defence
