In addition to all the excellent critiques of that very bad take about Lilo and Stitch

I would just like to add that the Very Bad Take was clearly written by someone that can’t imagine not being the center of every story.
Absolutely in the sense that they...can’t comprehend that a six year old is not a twelve year old?

Absolutely in the sense that they fail to pick up on the anti-colonialization aspects of the film...like wtf?!?!?!
But also in the sense that they keep describing Lilo as needing to be taught the lessons they clearly needed to learn...and honestly haven’t learned very well.
Their entire shitty rewrite is about teaching Lilo to not be selfish and to think of others.

But....that’s not Lilo’s problem.

That’s THEIR problem.

It’s just a shitty take in such a meta way I just boggle.
(If Lilo was truely selfish and not simply traumatized, she wouldn’t be so caring towards Stitch. That’s part of his role. To make that clear. For the people who need that spelled out for them.)
And now I’m pissed that they brought in ABUSE to the conversation.

To describe the actions of A SIX YEAR OLD

As if a six year old had the power to be abusive to people older than her.
And to describe the actions of an indigenous six year old at that, as if this isn’t precisely the kind of racist thinking that Nani is justifiably afraid of in the goddam story.
