I look at where we are today, and feel this huge anger welling inside me for what might have been. Every branch of the Establishment pulled together to destroy Corbyn. All he wanted to do was to empower people. And, of course, that could never be allowed, could it? 1/
2/ These messages were sent to me on FB on the evening of the GE from one of my son's school friends - let's call her Emily. She works 2 jobs - one as a care-worker (and she is still out there, struggling). I never even knew she was interested in politics. This broke my heart.
3/ Once this vile plague is over, there must be a reckoning. We cannot go on living the way we live. I cannot get over that here I am, safe in my self-isolation with my bottle of wine and my stock of food, while the people who keep me safe are putting their lives on the line.
4/ There has to be a true levelling; a true understanding of the worth of every person in society, an understanding that we are all deeply linked and connected, all worthy of a decent life, all worthy of respect and dignity.
