I can’t believe it took this long to find a solution to domestic abuse. We thought it was about safe housing, but we just need to update our avis and victims will be safer ☠️ https://twitter.com/bbcnews/status/1248999539463389184
Reminder that in an emergency you should call 999. No matter what your social-economic or immigration status is.

If you can't talk and you are on a mobile phone, you'll get through their silent solution system. Once you hear you are through to police you need to press 55.
If you are not in immediate danger @womensaid runs a live chat Monday to Friday 10-12pm.

The national domestic abuse helpline is 0808 2000 247.
For Latinxs suffering domestic violence, @LAWALondon can help. They speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.

@SBSisters are there to help black women of Asian and Caribbean backgrounds.

Opoka runs a helpline in Polish 0300 365 1700
And of course... YOU CAN BREAK LOCKDOWN IF YOU ARE LIVING WITH AN ABUSIVE PARTNER. Get out the house if it means you'll be safer.
Hitting you, stopping you from contacting family, threatening you or making you do things you don't want to do, making you feel worthless... those are just some of the ways abusers exert power. Domestic abuse can happen to *anyone*, if it doesn't feel right... get out.
A few days ago I wrote a longer version of this thread. It's appearing on a few of our regional titles. My only hope with it is that as many people as possible come across it. Domestic abuse is more than just outrageous headlines. https://bit.ly/2xlENeF
