A women’s charity that Jess Phillips has a relationship with were told that she would remove her support if they made any changes to their policy on sex work. She’s now the shadow minister for DV, in case you were wondering if the Labour party cares about sex workers.

The change wasn’t even to come out in support of full decriminalisation, it was to change the definition away from prostitution as a form of sexual violence so as to better support sex workers accessing services.

When you define sex work as sexual violence you say that the cops raiding a sex worker’s workplace & leaving her destitute is the same as the cops arresting her rapist, regardless of what she says she needs to be safe from violence.
