For the first time, I have experienced a fraudulent backer with a throwaway email address on @kickstarter when funding for our game at @Xysspon, Harpy Gaiden, resulting in a $503 chargeback on my @CashApp card.

To think someone would do this during a pandemic is despicable.

Before any unsolicited advice or automated replies are received in this thread, yes I’ve fought this case before the project was over.

We knew from the get-go that an anonymous backer with a well-known temporary email address domain would request a refund of all people.

Before anyone plays devil’s advocate without asking for further context, less than 15mins later, we received another $2000 from an anonymous backer pledging with another well-known temporary email address domain.

However, the difference was they refunded less than 24hrs later.

I believe and have good faith that both @CashApp and the @CashSupport team will help me to the best of their abilities.

Instead of mourning or stressing out about this fraudulent backer, I would like to thank all those at @WellsFargo personally who valiantly fought my case.

Simply put, @WellsFargo has given me the best support everywhere and even at the most ungodly hours—even during this outbreak. I’m sure if @CashApp and the @CashSupport team join together with Wells Fargo, they can put this fraudulent backer to justice.

We must remain hopeful.

Many might ask: why would I, a now-unemployed university student [at least outside of @Xysspon] would be so ludicrously optimistic after spontaneously losing $500?

The answer is simple: if we lose hope now, then we'll lose ourselves in our stress & anxiety.

We must stay strong.

I hope that @CashApp & @WellsFargo truly do team together to solve this problem, or it may hinder future game development progress at @Xysspon LLC.
