Therapist here. What if I told you that right now, it's okay to not be "okay." This is a crazy time we're living in: many of us have had our lives upended. Far more have had our daily routines torn apart. There's uncertainty everywhere, to say nothing of the latent anger and 1/?
2/? impotent frustration each time we turn on the news. And, at the time we need it the most, we've lost many of our best coping skills: hanging out with friends. Going out for walks. Community. Grocery shopping on Sunday afternoons while mentally preparing for the week ahead.
3/? So yes, being "not okay" is a normal and human reaction right now. You are not weak or bad for not "keeping it together," and you are not alone. We're all feeling it, and we're all responding to it in our own ways. So it's okay to be gentle with yourself today. Okay?
