Therapist here. What if I told you that right now, it& #39;s okay to not be "okay." This is a crazy time we& #39;re living in: many of us have had our lives upended. Far more have had our daily routines torn apart. There& #39;s uncertainty everywhere, to say nothing of the latent anger and 1/?
2/? impotent frustration each time we turn on the news. And, at the time we need it the most, we& #39;ve lost many of our best coping skills: hanging out with friends. Going out for walks. Community. Grocery shopping on Sunday afternoons while mentally preparing for the week ahead.
3/? So yes, being "not okay" is a normal and human reaction right now. You are not weak or bad for not "keeping it together," and you are not alone. We& #39;re all feeling it, and we& #39;re all responding to it in our own ways. So it& #39;s okay to be gentle with yourself today. Okay?
