Man all it takes is an anime with pretty boys getting popular for all that internalized misogyny to jump out huh, I see how it is
Like trust me I& #39;m so TIRED, I don& #39;t want to talk about this but if we don& #39;t call it what it is then we& #39;re just accepting that sort of behavior and I can& #39;t do that, I& #39;m sorry, I& #39;ve seen how Yoi fans were treated, I will not accept a repeat
There& #39;s this belief, subconscious or not, that women should only take up a certain amount of space - in this case, on the internet - and when they DARE to take up more and bother NORMAL PEOPLE with their interests? That& #39;s unacceptable, they need to be put back in their place
Listen, I get it, there are countless series I& #39;ve seen spammed all over my TL and all I could think of was "wow I& #39;m sick of this" but that& #39;s why muting exists.

Twitter in general sucks for fandoms bc back on tumblr we could tag everything and keep everything contained but alas
What& #39;s scary to me is how many people seem to have this... intense anger for the series? Just because something they don& #39;t care about is popular?

It& #39;s not a regular "not my thing" or "I don& #39;t wanna see it" - it& #39;s this intense conviction that NOT liking it makes them BETTER
And usually this response would come from elitist dudebros, who hate anything slightly mainstream but no - it& #39;s coming from other josei-muke fans and that& #39;s the scary part.

Feel free to not like it or mute it but god I beg you, reconsider being angry just bc something is popular
