There& #39;s a lot of push back on folks actualising during this time. It goes something along this line of "don& #39;t feel bad if you can& #39;t get anything done - it& #39;s a difficult time". Get where it& #39;s coming from, but with some exceptions, it& #39;s misguided...
Exception 1: you& #39;re an emergency keyworker or your now busier than ever as a result of covid
Exception 2: you& #39;re sick (includes diagnosed mental health)
Exception 3: someone you& #39;re quarantined with is sick
Exception 4: your recently bereaved
Exception 5: you& #39;re responsible for a vulnerable person/ someone isolating
Exception 6: you& #39;re a single parent (you don& #39;t have childcare support from a spouse/partner or someone you can & #39;tag& #39; with).
If you& #39;re a 2 or 5, then productivity necessarily takes an L. Grieve, rest, follow doctor& #39;s orders.
But if you& #39;re not an exception, here& #39;s the question: why can& #39;t you do your work? Not asking you to write an opus, crush it with a 6-fig new biz, or chisel a beach bod (those are results, not actions). But what prevents you from trusting the process of doing/beginning your work?
If it& #39;s the newscycle, or boredom, or worry, there& #39;s another question: are you willing to trade perhaps the only chunk of time and energy you will ever have like this, for these excuses/anxieties/controllable factors?
Scripts to reframe things:

"Don& #39;t feel bad about not achieving outsized results - but yes, feel bad about not following a process, routine, habit that will help you get incremental gains." That& #39;s on me. It always has been. (Obv don& #39;t stay feeling bad; convert it to action)
Script 2: Feel the regret of your future self, because your current self got distracted, and act accordingly now.
Are the folks telling me to take it easy, where I want to be?

If not, why follow their advice at all? For sure, look for reasons why their advice is still valid - but salt pinches required.https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ€”" title="Thinking face" aria-label="Emoji: Thinking face">
If they are where you want to be, consider that they may have had their biggest inflection point pre-covid - treat their advice with a proportional pinch of salt. It& #39;s easy to let up, when you& #39;re way ahead. always look for disconfirming evidence - even on this thread https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😉" title="Winking face" aria-label="Emoji: Winking face">
