it's really fucked up how much people in the trans communuty just straight up lie about what HRT does to you to the point of encouraging some serious magical thinking. it was only after being on T for 5 yrs that i realized it was only gonna give me hair, acne, and a deeper voice

shaving my facial hair used to make me so dysphoric because i realized my crappy little thin beard was the only thing making my face look even remotely male. when it was gone i just looked like the girl i hated but more dykey than before and it would make me feel so awful
