I would like to apologize to every woman that has been stripped of their motivations, dreams and aspirations because of a man. I am sorry for every lost opportunity because you are not “competent” enough or because you are “intimidating” or that you are “difficult”.

I am sorry if you hate your femininity because they have made you feel like it’s a crutch. That you had been made to hate a part of you because it has been made apparent that what is associated with being a woman is what is holding you back.

I am sorry if you have been made to feel guilty if you want to achieve your dreams/goals but it is clashing with your male counterparts/friend/family members respective dream/goal. So it is expected of you to compromise and not said male.

I am sorry if they made you feel like you are the exception to the rule.

I am sorry if men have expressed that “you are not like other girls” and that “you are one of the boys”. I’m sorry that they put you in this position. That they tell you that you are good enough but the rest are not.

I am sorry for every girl who dumbs herself down to not hurt a mans ego and I’m sorry for every girl who doesn’t put herself out there enough because she is afraid to be called dumb or stupid by others.

I am sorry for every woman in studying or working in the STEM field who is made to feel as if she is a unicorn or that she should stop trying and switch to something “easier”.

I am sorry for the daily criticism of not being woman enough or being too womanly. I am sorry that you are constantly made to feel that whatever you do will never be enough.

I am sorry that you are pitted against each other. Made to think that other women are your enemies. And then gaslighted with this information. “Women treat women badly more than men treat women badly”.

I am sorry that you are made to feel that “feminist” is a dirty word. That you are so afraid to be associated with this word due to the stigma around it. Because being a feminist is associated with being difficult,extreme,crazy and unapproachable.

I am sorry if i have ever been in a situation and been complacent. I will always try my best to speak up,recognize my fucking privilege and be a good ally.
