Maybe I’m unusual but I woke up today worrying about the CARES $$ for emergency aid, #highered
Here’s what is on my mind.
1. I’m concerned this will be treated like more SEOG rather than emergency aid and I think that’s a mistake.

1. I’m concerned this will be treated like more SEOG rather than emergency aid and I think that’s a mistake.
2. This support will be needed throughout the year not just May/June. And I doubt there is more coming.
3. Delivering it using standard Title IV aid norms is going to double down on existing gaps that make this pandemic so much worse for #RealCollege students.

4. Speed is key but first come first served is not equitable.
5. You’ve absolutely got to maximize impact on enrollment and retention and collect the evidence to prove it.

Also- We have to do far better helping Congress understand why allocations based on FTE are neither equitable nor effective. So much more!
