#StLCards (0-1) facing Ron Darling (12-9 last year) & the Mets (1-0) today. McGee still out (hamstring):

Lonnie-7
Herr-4
Braun-9
Clark-3
Porter-2
Pendleton-5
Van Slyke-8
Ozzie-6
Tudor (12-11)
Pendleton knocks in a run in top of the 4th, but ends inning getting caught stealing, then makes 2 errors in bottom half, leading to a Mets run.

Tudor goes 9 without allowing an ER, but the game is still tied at 1 going into the bottom of the 11th with Andy Hassler pitching...
Hernandez singles off Hassler, then Allen relieves & works his magic, giving up a single to Carter, IBB to Foster & GW BB to Heep.

All the experts predicted the loss of Sutter might make us a last place team. So far the experts look, well, like experts. #StLCards 0-2 after two.
Allen has been shaky at best since coming to STL in a trade for Keith Hernandez. He said “Maybe it’s best I get out of here while I’m still alive, before I go insane. This just gives the people of St. Louis some ammunition. I’m pretty sure they’ve got their guns loaded now.”
Since the trade brought Allen to the #StLCards in 1983, he has always felt somewhat like Rodney Dangerfield, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch today. #NoRespect
While the #StLCards offense looked a lot like it had all spring (i.e., really bad), it was good to see pitcher John Tudor reverse course and make his regular season Redbird debut with a stellar outing, allowing only 3 H over 9 IP.
