1. Here’s my problem. I don’t want to be sucked into arguments with random and semi-random twitter accounts who claim to be on the left arguing about sitting 2020 out or voting third party.

2. I did this in good faith in 2016 and it was a waste of time. Also, tbh, pretty bad for my mood. And in 2016 I’d been, to the best of my ability, trying to help Sanders win the nomination.

3. So I was genuinely shocked when I emerged from that to discover the extent of “Clinton is the same as Trump but also Trump winning will heighten the contradictions while he appoints moderates to the Courts and dials back the use of force” rhetoric.

4. But this time, I should no better.

The problem is that I really hate seeing progressives embrace delusional claims that seem to have spawned from ratf***er meme-factories, like “Biden will appoint Alito clones to SCOTUS” or whatever.

5. So I’m trying. Really. And I’m trying even harder not to go beyond “if you care about x, as you say you do, here are some reasons to vote for Biden and then afterwards down a bottle of bourbon or give to Our Revolution or do whatever you need to do to feel better”.

6. I’m even doing one of those “caption with gifs” threads I find annoying.

The point is that I’m already failing and I’m so very very sorry but I will continue to try.
