Went out to get some groceries in the morning. Not a single cop anywhere, but people are strictly following protocol. Most essentials are available but brand choices are coming down. Prices are going up slowly but local produce is abundant & cheap. People aren't buying meat/chikn
Want to share something that happened while I was in a circled queue in front of a grocery shop.

Grocer's wife was regulating customers while grocer & his 2 assistants were busy executing orders one customer at a time.

Ordinary folks like me were waiting patiently. +
Upper middle class customers would come out of fancy cars & try to avoid queue using their long lists but the grocer's wife would request them to stand in queue, & grudgingly they obliged.

Everyone is wearing masks & standing apart in the sun & looking eagerly for known eyes. +
In the middle of this two very old people, a man & woman without masks were begging for money from everyone on the queue. Each time they would come near, people in the queue would step back in fright. Some started shouting at them. I reached out for my purse, but by then.. +
The grocer's wife took them aside, gave them some snacks, some curds & told them to come back later for more. Middle India sighed, as they walked away.

I foresee a huge confrontation between privileged India, middle India, underclass India & dispensable India in the near future.
