How things change, a thread

Shituation 1: father attempts suicide, mental illness peaks, have a PTSD episode, a suicide attempt is made, a human close to me is informed - informs my family with “if you don’t do something about this, I’ll have to”
Shituation 2: travel to an extremely triggering location, go on a full-fledge bender, have a PTSD episode, a suicide attempt is made, a human close to me is informed - informs my family with a call to see if anyone has checked on me recently.
In both these situations my mental health got the best of me, for whatever reason my brain seems coded for “can’t get in trouble for failing others if you’re dead” and it’s been a demon to override. In both these situations, I reached out to someone I thought could help me.
In one of these situations, my failures with my demons were repeatedly used against me to continue fueling poor mental health responses. In the other I was told to, “focus on myself,” “get better,” and “never hurt someone I love like that again.”

One of these was constructive.
Treating mental health issues like mental health issues instead of taking them personally is constructive.
