This segment on CBC about all the ways that public health got it wrong on coronavirus is missing some pretty incredible gaps: they go with gotchas (boarder closures and masks) rather than looking at the total failure to protect the most vulnerable: folks living in LTC.
It's also fully ignoring the role of Canada's assumption that China was our biggest threat, even though the biggest outbreaks came from the US. It seemed that China-linked cases were dealt with properly, but it was the US that would create our worst outbreaks.
Not to mention that it also ignores the role austerity has played.

The segment also doesn't dare criticize the Liberal policy ... it lays the blame at the feet of Theresa Tam and public health officials. What a waste of a segment.
*Liberal economic policy, specifically.
