An artist's pledge to preserve access to their artwork in the event of uncontrollable circumstances with the media itself (a blockchain) while a noble gesture by the artist, should also be heeded as warning about the longevity of art on blockchains vis-à-vis traditional media.
It's paradoxical & amusing that civilization collapse scenarios in movies & games often feature imagery of tattered art, crumbled sculpture, etc.

Museums could be visited & paintings admired until they too fade, but all #cryptoart will be instantly lost in a schrodinger's cloud.
As a simple human artist I can make traditional art with a minimal list of requirements:

1. Natural occurring materials
2. Time

but as a crypto artist:

1. Blockchain
2. Cryptocurrency
3. Software
4. Internet access
5. Computer
6. Electricity
7. Time
