It’s too early to get into the remuneration madness of the Nigerian legal profession now.
When all you can brag about is how wealthy your boss is, then there’s a problem you’re ignoring.
If you’re being honest with yourself, lay out a profit sharing formula with your lawyers based on the briefs you get. If you can’t pay well, just close shop or do all the work by yourself. Sole practitionership is a thing.
I don’t think the low pay is the most painful part of legal practice. It’s the unfairness that comes with the low pay. Why are you switching a Rolls Royce Wraith and a Jaguar XJ to work when your lawyers can’t even afford the smallest car?
You know what the top firms over here do? They all jack up remuneration once one of them does. They do because they know top talent deserves a good pay.
Talmabout ‘my oga get two houses for London’ but you’re still calling your parents for your next rent because your salary is too small for you to save for that.
Your oga is driving a Rolls Royce Ghost but what you have to show for working in such a ‘top firm’ is pictures from a private jet when you were following him to that election petition in Abuja.
