Today, it& #39;s been 2 weeks since i& #39;ve started collecting #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> houses on my account @TootataACHouses. I was slightly expecting to be bored of it after 5 to 10 days, but it& #39;s still very fun to search and see what crazy things people are making!

I& #39;m trying hard to share varied pictures of different kinds, and to highlight both really clean & clever houses and houses that were decorated just for the fun of it. Here are six things i love about how people are playing within AC& #39;s rules to make nice houses:
1. Theme
Many people want to build their rooms around specific themes: we& #39;ve had seasonal events rooms full of eggs or sakura furniture, greenhouse rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, music studios, garages... or this onsen: https://twitter.com/krispiotrowski/status/1248059516530372610">https://twitter.com/krispiotr...
2. Fanart
Some rooms are made around the theme of a book, movie, series or any cultural work. This leads people to find & set up furniture according to what objects they find relevant to the spirit of the original work, like this Twin Peaks Black Lodge: https://twitter.com/konjak/status/1245070654669348864">https://twitter.com/konjak/st...
3. Subverting the themes
Sometimes it& #39;s nice to have a "cozy room full of wooden furniture", or a "rooms with plants & forest stuff"; but it can be more fun to subvert the expectations and have multiple themes at once, as in this "mysterious gains forest"! https://twitter.com/HappyLittleImp/status/1248358625023688705">https://twitter.com/HappyLitt...
4. Attention to details
Animal Crossing is a video game in which player characters don& #39;t *need* to drink, read books or have an oven. But people are gatheering those objects nonetheless and faithfully recreating real-life interior with a lovely precision: https://twitter.com/2pHtmDBzjlvyUxo/status/1244645487866548226">https://twitter.com/2pHtmDBzj...
5. Weirdness
Animal Crossing is a video game in which player character don& #39;t *need* to drink, read books or have an oven, so why not messing around and create interesting, funny, weird, over-the-top objects combinations? https://twitter.com/philippawarr/status/1247294078900936704">https://twitter.com/philippaw...
6. Custom designs
Players are going WILD with custom designs, remaking Hokusai& #39;s Great wave, videogames sprites, album art from their favourite bands; or making new art directly in Animal Crossing. See for example illustrator Stephanie Unger& #39;s exhibition: https://twitter.com/tigershungry/status/1244211513319194624">https://twitter.com/tigershun...
At time of writing this, there are more than 200 different houses at @TootataACHouses, and i definitely plan on keeping looking for new, interesting ones. It& #39;s very fun and inspiring, both in-game and outside of it.
I hope you liked this small analysis, keep making good stuff! <3
