Stephen A, Skip, Rob Parker, Broussard, Gottlieb will have you believe MJ was perfect...never got to a game 7 in the finals and all that. This will be a thread of MJ games that if there was social media and debate shows back then would have made the headlines for wrong reasons.

Game 6 1996 Finals against Sonics. Bulls had lost 2 straight, were under pressure to end it. Payton had taken the MJ assignment in last 2 games and made him look ordinary. In this game MJ was expected to kill him...MJ shot 26% with 5 turnovers. Bailed out by refs with 12 FTs.

Same series, Game 4 . After racing to a 3-0 series lead, Payton gets switched on to MJ for game 4. MJ shoots 32% and bailed out by refs who gave him 13 free throws! This is Hardenesque but Harden gets hammered for same.

Game 4 1997 Eastern Conference Finals. MJ shoots 26% from the field, 0 for 8 from 3 (you know they always tell you Jordan didn't shoot 3s). Again, MJ's numbers inflated by freethrows....13! Remember they tell you it was a physical era and fouls were not called....yeah right.

Game 3 1996 Eastern Conference Finals against Shaq and Penny's Magic. And that was all the Magic had, Shaq and Penny which made it easy for them to be swept. In this game, MJ shot 36%, far cry from his average. His free throwing shooting was atrocious, missed 5 of 11 attempts!

Game 3 1993 Eastern Conference final against the Knicks. MJ shoots 17%.....17%....scoring only 6 points from the field in 38 minutes. As always, the refs came to the rescue with 17 free throws....17! This was in the 90s when people were supposedly allowed to kill each other.

If another superstar has a game 7 shooting 36% and missed 5 free throws (a third of his attempts....refs again with 15 freethrows), such a player would be deemed not clutch...it would be said the player shrunk in a big moment.
Game 7 Eastern Conference finals 1998 against Pacers.

Game 2 1992 Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavs. MJ shoots 32% from the field and gives up 6 turnovers. This was a big home game and dude just didn't show up....but nobody remembers this because perfection.
