These paintings come from a remarkably well-preserved Arabic MS gospel book, completed in Cairo on 24 July 1723 by Ibrahim ibn Bulus ibn Dawud al-Halabi, who also provided the corresponding Hijri date. [235]
The paintings, however, were completed in 1745 by Girgis ibn Hananiya al-Halabi, 4th generation of a family of Aleppo icon painters whose work spans the 17th & 18th centuries CE. His dated inscription is illustrated. [236]
The MS is now Codex Pandeli [Utopia, armarium codicum bibliophilorum, Cod. 2], on long-term loan from a private collection to the library of St. Gall Abbey, and fully digitised on E-Codices:

Saving the best/nerdiest bit for last: front board, pastedown, and front free endpaper. The binding is fine contemporary work (Levantine, "monastic", reductively), while the endpapers employ a decorated European paper. Over to you @simon_beattie ?
